AEMT Lab. hosted a seminar on medical systems based on superconducting technology, featuring Dr. Akihiko Kandori of the Research & Development Group (Next Research), Hitachi, Ltd.
"Biomedical Measurement Research and Serendipity Arising from the Development of Medical Systems Using Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices — The Importance of Earning a PhD —"
Date and time: October 7, 2026 (Wed), 15:30–16:30
Venue: Lecture Room 4, Faculty of Engineering Building 1, Tsushima Campus, Okayama University (no registration or participation fee required)
Speaker: Akihiko Kandori, Next Research, Research & Development Group, Hitachi, Ltd.
Organizer: Advanced Electro Measurement Technology (AEMT) Laboratory, Okayama University
Co-organizer: ZEN-GO
Akihiko Kandori has long been engaged in biomedical measurement technology, in particular the development of medical systems based on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs), a technology associated with last year's Nobel Prize in Physics, and has an outstanding research record and extensive experience. In this seminar, he will talk about the development of magnetocardiographs and magnetoencephalographs, and the finger-tapping device for diagnosing movement disorders that grew out of that work.
